Cabaret 5 Racing Results

Cabaret 5, sponsored by MUI Yachtinsure/JCC Re triumph in MUI Yachtinsure-Royal Selangor Yacht Club Cruiser Yacht Series 2.  Cabaret 5 won the Series on Sunday by one point which as is as close as it could get.  Cabaret 5 needed to win both race held on Sunday to defeat a Platu 25 well sailed by Dutch National and highly experienced yachtsman Rolf Heemskerk. 

Skipper and JCC Re CEO commented - "Sunday was a nervous day for us.  We had our best crew on board for this vital championship end.  It rained so heavily on Sunday morning that it seemed inconceivable that we could race which would have given the series to Rolf who had 5 first to our 3.  very fortunately just as we set out from the Club the rain stopped, the sun came out and a light breeze sprung up.  There were only 3 boats the minimum for a race and we won the first race easily.  The second was very tight and we had to come from behind to win by one second from Platu 3 sailed by Heinz Heyer.  In our efforts to win, Cabaret 5 was nearly forced onto the Committee boat both at the start and the finish."

It was the closest series for some time and featured some lovely sailing.
